Project Description –
Residing in the annex building of Singapore’s former Parliament House - a courthouse of the colonial government in 1830s – Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt (OCF) Restaurant sets the stages for celebrating two forms of sensory theatre: musical and culinary. Named after Sir Stamford Raffles’ ex-wife, the building in which OCF is housed sits strategically behind his statue along the Singapore River.
A key lighting design feature lies in the illumination of the stage. We opted for a simple but powerful gesture in an uplight detail encircling the stage, with a projected motif adding a theatrical touch. Uplights concealed in boxes accentuate existing classical columns. At the showkitchen, a multitude of carefully tilted mirror panels form a reflective bronze ‘chandelier’ where views of the musical stage are captured in a series of reflections.
